Saturday August 28th, 47th Anniversary Of March On Washington, Dr. Martin Luther King I Have A Dream Speech IN 1963, (video, transcript). While the media is focusing on the Glenn Beck Rally scheduled to take place on the anniversary of Martin Luther King's historic I Have A Dream Speech, it perhaps worth revisiting that historic day on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington.

In 1963 the speech was culmination of the Civil Rights March On Washington designed to to put pressure on the Kennedy administration to enact Civil Rights Legislation. MLK created a broad coalition for the March On Washington. 

 

Martin Luther King was the very last speaker of the day and he delivered a speech which was truly remarkable its scope and its brevity, lasting only 10 minutes.
