Youra Guller, piano
Recorded in 1956

Youra Guller was born in Marseille in 1895. A child of Russian-Romanian parentage, Guller began piano studies at the age of 5. Guller performed in recitals and then enrolled at the Paris Conservatory at the age of 9. It was there that she worked with Isidor Philipp. Around World War II, a period of illness forced her to slow down. By the 1960s, Guller had resumed performing, making her New York debut in 1971. Guller died in Paris in 1981.
