    <strong><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">Abstract: BP Oil Spill may cause an irreparable damage to
    the Gulf Stream global climate thermoregulation activity.</span>.</span></strong>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <br>
    <strong><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">The Gulf Stream importance in the global climate thermoregulation processes is well assessed. The latest real time satellite (Jason,
    Topex/Poseidon, Geosat Follow-On, ERS-2, Envisat) data maps of May-June 2010 processed by CCAR1,(Colorado Center for Astrodynamics Research), checked at Frascati Laboratories by the means of the
    SHT congruent calculus3 and compared with past years data, show for the first time a direct evidence of the rapid breaking</span>&nbsp;<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">of the Loop
    Current, a warm ocean current, crucial part of the Gulf Stream.</span></strong>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">As displayed both by the sea surface velocity maps and the sea surface heightmaps, the Loop Current broke down for the first time around May 18th and
    generated a clock wise eddy, which is still active.</span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">Real time satellites data maps. Real time sea surface height maps (above) and sea surface velocity maps (below) starting from april 22nd until June 9th
    processed by CCAR1,2 and checked at LNF (Frascati) by SHT calculus3. The star indicates the site of BP platform “Deepwater Horizon”. The yellow arrow indicates the breaking of the Loop
    Stream.</span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">As of today the situation has deteriorated up to the point in which the eddy has detached itself completely from the main stream therefore destroying
    completely the Loop Current, as in figure 2 below, dated June 12th 2010.</span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">Figure 2| Real time satellites data maps updated. Real time sea surface height map (left)&nbsp;and sea surface velocity maps (right) updated on June
    12th processed by CCAR1,2 and checked&nbsp;at LNF (Frascati) by SHT calculus3. The star indicates the site of BP platform “Deepwater&nbsp;Horizon”. The yellow arrow indicates the breaking of the
    Loop Stream.</span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">Since comparative analysis with past satellite data until may 2010 didn’t show&nbsp;relevant anomalies, it might be therefore plausible to correlate
    the breaking of&nbsp;the Loop Current with the biochemical and physical action of the BP Oil Spill on</span><br>
    <span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">the Gulf Stream.</span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">It is reasonable to foresee the threat that the breaking of a crucial warm&nbsp;stream as the Loop Current may generate a chain reaction of
    unpredictable&nbsp;critical phenomena and instabilities due to strong non linearities which may</span>&nbsp;<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">have serious consequences on the dynamics
    of the Gulf Stream thermoregulation&nbsp;activity of the Global Climate.</span>
  </p>

      <p style="text-align: justify;">
        <span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;">Dr Pachauri, who played a leading role at the summit, corrected the error last week after coming under media
        pressure. He told <em>The Times</em> on January 22 that he had only known about the error for a few days. He said: “I became aware of this when it was reported in the media about ten days
        ago. Before that, it was really not made known. Nobody brought it to my attention. There were statements, but we never looked at this 2035 number.”<br></span></span>

      <p style="text-align: justify;">
        <span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;">Asked whether he had deliberately kept silent about the error to avoid embarrassment at Copenhagen, he said: “That’s

      <p style="text-align: justify;">
        <span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;">However, a prominent science journalist said that he had asked Dr Pachauri about the 2035 error last November.
        Pallava Bagla, who writes for <em>Science</em> journal, said he had asked Dr Pachauri about the error. He said that Dr Pachauri had replied: “I don’t have anything to add on
        glaciers.”<br></span></span>

      <p style="text-align: justify;">
        <span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;">The Himalayan glaciers are so thick and at such high altitude that most glaciologists believe they would take several
        hundred years to melt at the present rate. Some are growing and many show little sign of change.<br></span></span>

      <p style="text-align: justify;">
        <span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;">Dr Pachauri had previously dismissed a report by the Indian Government which said that glaciers might not be melting

        <span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;">Mr Bagla said he had informed Dr Pachauri that Graham Cogley, a professor at Ontario Trent University and a leading
        glaciologist, had dismissed the 2035 date as being wrong by at least 300 years. Professor Cogley believed the IPCC had misread the date in a 1996 report which said the glaciers could melt
        significantly by 2350.<br></span></span>

      <p style="text-align: justify;">
        <span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;">Mr Pallava interviewed Dr Pachauri again this week for <em>Science</em> and asked him why he had decided to overlook
        the error before the Copenhagen summit. In the taped interview, Mr Pallava asked: “I pointed it out [the error] to you in several e-mails, several discussions, yet you decided to overlook it.
        Was that so that you did not want to destabilise what was happening in Copenhagen?”</span></span>

      <p style="text-align: justify;">
        <span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;">Dr Pachauri replied: “Not at all, not at all. As it happens, we were all terribly preoccupied with a lot of events.
        We were working round the clock with several things that had to be done in Copenhagen. It was only when the story broke, I think in December, we decided to, well, early this month — as a
        matter of fact, I can give you the exact dates — early in January that we decided to go into it and we moved very fast.<br></span></span>

        what had happened. So I think this presumption on your part or on the part of any others is totally wrong. We are certainly never — and I can say this categorically — ever going to do
        anything other than what is truthful and what upholds the veracity of science.”<br></span></span>

    major data-manipulation scandals from the UN-tied research center at</span> <span lang="EN-US">Britain</span><span lang="EN-US">’s</span> <span lang="EN-US">East Anglia</span> <span lang=
    "EN-US">University</span></em></b> <span lang="EN-US"><b><em>late 2009, the picture emerges of one of the most massive scientific frauds of recent history.</em></b><br>
    <br></span> <span lang="EN-GB">Senior members of the UN climate project, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) have been forced to admit a major error in the 2007 IPCC UN report
    that triggered the recent global campaign for urgent measures to reduce “manmade emissions” of CO2.</span> <span lang="DE">The IPCC’s 2007 report stated, “glaciers in the</span><span lang=
    "DE">Himalayas</span> <span lang="DE">are receding faster than in any other part of the world.” Given that this is the world’s highest mountain range and meltdown implies a massive flooding
    of</span><span lang="DE">India</span><span lang="DE">,</span> <span lang="DE">China</span> <span lang="DE">and the entire Asian region, it was a major scare “selling point” for the IPCC
    agenda.</span> <span lang="EN-GB">As well, the statement on the glacier melt in the 2007 IPCC report contains other serious errors such as the statement that “Its total area will likely shrink
    from the present 500,000 to 100,000 square kilometers by the year 2035." There are only 33,000 square kilometers of glaciers in the</span> <span lang="EN-GB">Himalayas</span><span lang="EN-GB">.
    And a table in the report says that between 1845 and 1965, the <span class="yshortcuts">Pindari Glacier</span> shrank by 2,840 meters. Then comes a math mistake: It says that's a rate of 135.2
    meters a year, when it really is only 23.5 meters a year. Now scientists around the world are scouring the entire IPCC report &nbsp;for indications of similar lack of scientific rigor.<br>
    <br></span> <span lang="EN-US">It emerges that the basis of the stark IPCC glacier meltdown statement of 2007 was not even a scientific study of melting data. Rather it was a reference to a
    newspaper article cited by a pro-global warming ecological advocacy group, WWF.<br>
    <br></span> <span lang="EN-GB">The original source of the IPCC statement, it turns out, appeared in a 1999 report in the British magazine, <em>New Scientist</em> that was cited in passing by WWF.
    The <em>New Scientist</em> author, Fred Pierce, wrote then, <em>“The inclusion of this statement has angered many glaciologists, who regard it as unjustified. Vijay Raina, a leading Indian
    glaciologist, wrote in a paper published by the Indian Government in November that there is no sign of "abnormal" retreat in Himalayan glaciers. India's environment minister, Jairam Ramesh,
    accused the IPCC of being "alarmist." The IPCC's chairman, Rajendra Pachauri, has hit back, denouncing the Indian government report as "voodoo science" lacking peer review. He adds that "we have
    a very clear idea of what is happening" in the</em></span> <em><span lang="EN-GB">Himalayas</span></em><em><span lang="EN-GB">.”</span></em> <span lang="EN-GB"><span class=
    "MsoEndnoteReference"><span class="MsoEndnoteReference"><span lang="EN-GB">[1]<br>
    <br></span></span></span></span> <span lang="EN-GB">The same Pachauri, co-awardee of the Nobel Prize with Al Gore, has recently been under attack for huge conflicts of interest related to his
    business interests that profit from the CO2 global warming agenda he promotes.<span class="MsoEndnoteReference"><span class="MsoEndnoteReference"><span lang="EN-GB">[2]</span></span></span><br>
    <br></span> <span lang="EN-GB">Pearce notes that the original claim made by Indian glaciologist Syed Hasnain, in a 1999 email interview with Pearce, namely that all the glaciers in the central
    and eastern Himalayas could disappear by 2035, never was repeated by Hasnain in any peer-reviewed scientific journal, and that Hasnain now says the remark was "speculative".<br></span><span lang=
    "EN-GB"><br>
    Despite the&nbsp; lack of scientific validation, the 10-year-old claim ended up in the IPCC fourth assessment report published in 2007. Moreover the claim was extrapolated to include all glaciers
    in the</span> <span lang="EN-GB">Himalayas</span><span lang="EN-GB">.<br>
    <br></span> <span lang="EN-US">Since publication of the latest <em>New Scientist</em> article, the IPCC officially has been forced to issue the following statement: <em>“the IPCC said the
    paragraph "refers to poorly substantiated estimates of rate of recession and date for the disappearance of Himalayan glaciers. In drafting the paragraph in question, the clear and
    well-established standards of evidence, required by the IPCC procedures, were not applied properly."</em></span></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span lang="EN-US"><br>
    The IPCC adds, <em>&nbsp;"The IPCC regrets the poor application of well-established IPCC procedures in this instance." But the statement calls for no action beyond stating a need for absolute
    adherence to IPCC quality control processes. "We reaffirm our strong commitment to ensuring this level of performance," the statement said.” <span class="MsoEndnoteReference"><span class=
    "MsoEndnoteReference"><b><span lang="EN-US">[3]<br>
    <br></span></b></span></span></em></span> <span lang="EN-GB">In an indication of the defensiveness prevailing within the UN’s IPCC, Jean-Pascal van Ypersele, vice-chair of the IPCC, insists that
    the mistake did nothing to undermine the large body of evidence that showed the climate was warming and that human activity was largely to blame.</span> <span lang="DE">He told BBC News: "I don't
    see how one mistake in a 3,000-page report can damage the credibility of the overall report."<br>
    <br></span> <span lang="EN-GB">Some serious scientists disagree. Georg Kaser, an expert in glaciology with</span><span lang="EN-GB">University</span> <span lang="EN-GB">of</span> <span lang=

    of the latest scandal affecting the credibility of the IPCC. Kaser says he had warned that the 2035 prediction was clearly wrong in 2006, months before the IPCC report was published. <em>"This
    [date] is not just a little bit wrong, but far out of any order of magnitude. All the responsible people are aware of this weakness in the fourth assessment. All are aware of the mistakes made.
    If it had not been the focus of so much public opinion, we would have said 'we will do better next time'. It is clear now that working group II has to be restructured." <span class=
    "MsoEndnoteReference"><span class="MsoEndnoteReference"><b><span lang="EN-GB">[4]<br>
    <br></span></b></span></span></em></span> <span lang="EN-GB">The chairman of the IPCC, Rajendra Pachauri, has made no personal comment on the glacier claim. It appears he is as well shaken by the
    wave of recent scandals. He told a conference in</span> <span lang="EN-GB">Dubai</span> <span lang="EN-GB">on energy recently, "They can't attack the science so they attack the chairman. But they
    won't sink me. I am the unsinkable Molly Brown (sic). In fact, I will float much higher," he told the <em>Guardian.</em> His remarks suggest more the ‘spirit of</span> <span lang=

  <h4 style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Le Centre belge de Recherche sur l’Epidémiologie des Désastres (CRED) a publié, en collaboration avec l’Organisation
    Mondiale de la Santé (OMS), les chiffres préliminaires des catastrophes naturelles pour les onze premiers mois de l’année 2009. Au total 245 catastrophes naturelles ont affecté environ 58
    millions de personnes. Sur l’ensemble de ces phénomènes extrêmes, 224 étaient d’origine climatique et ont touché environ 55 millions de personnes. Selon les chiffres publiés, 7 000 des 8 900
    décès imputés directement aux catastrophes sont liés aux événements climatiques.<br>
    <br>
    D’un point de vue financier, les estimations s’élèvent à 19 milliards de dollars de dommages économiques dont 15 milliards sont directement liés au climat.<br>
    <br>
    Globalement ces chiffres révèlent un palier dans la croissance du nombre de phénomènes extrêmes. Depuis l’an 2000, le nombre de catastrophes se situait entre 350 et 450 par an. Par contre la part
    des phénomènes météorologiques continue à progresser, avec un pourcentage qui dépasse maintenant les 90&nbsp;%.<br>
    <br>
    Au niveau des montants financiers, du nombre des victimes et des populations touchées, les évolutions doivent être regardées avec prudence. Les «&nbsp;dégâts&nbsp;» ne sont pas uniquement
    proportionnels à la violence des phénomènes et à leur nombre, mais aussi à leur localisation géographique. Les notions de zones plus ou moins peuplées et de populations plus ou moins vulnérables
    entrent fortement en ligne de compte.<br></span></span>

    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Révélée dimanche 17 janvier par <em>The Sunday Times</em>, l'affaire alimente depuis la chronique - principalement dans
    la presse anglo-saxonne. Et a contraint le GIEC à déclencher une enquête sur l'origine de la bourde.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Celle-ci tient en une phrase, à la 493e des 976 pages que compte le deuxième volet ("Impacts, adaptation et
    vulnérabilités") du rapport du GIEC : <em>"Dans l'Himalaya, les glaciers se retirent plus vite que dans toute autre partie du monde et, si les taux de retrait se maintiennent, la probabilité est
    très élevée de les voir disparaître en 2035 et peut-être plus tôt, si la Terre continue à se réchauffer au rythme actuel."</em> Mais, <em>"dans cette phrase</em>, prévient Christian Vincent, du
    Laboratoire de glaciologie et géophysique de l'environnement, à Grenoble, <em>tout est faux"</em>.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Sa provenance est indiquée dans le texte : le GIEC renvoie à un rapport de 2005 du WWF (Fonds mondial pour la nature), la
    célèbre ONG de protection de la nature. Or, dit le climatologue Hervé Le Treut (Institut Pierre-Simon-Laplace), l'un des auteurs du GIEC, <em>"si un chiffre se retrouve dans un rapport du GIEC
    sans avoir été publié et soumis au processus de</em> "peer review" (expertise préalable à une publication dans une revue à comité de lecture)<em>, c'est une erreur"</em>.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">

  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><b><br></b></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Non seulement le chiffre cité ne provient pas d'une étude scientifique, mais le rapport de l'ONG sur lequel s'appuie le
    GIEC ne se fonde pas non plus sur des travaux sérieux. En lieu et place d'une étude menée dans les formes, le WWF citait ainsi un article de presse de 1999, publié dans l'hebdomadaire américain
    <em>New Scientist</em>. Article dans lequel un chercheur interrogé par le journaliste mentionnait la date de 2035 comme une bonne estimation de la disparition des glaciers
    himalayens.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">La date de 2035 n'a sans doute pas été complètement inventée. Chistian Vincent mentionne ainsi l'existence d'un rapport,
    publié en 1996, à la demande de l'Unesco, par le glaciologue russe Vladimir Kotlyakov. Dans ce texte, l'auteur estimait qu'en 2350, la surface des glaciers aux latitudes moyennes se serait
    dramatiquement réduite, leur couverture passant de 500 000 km2 aujourd'hui à quelque 100 000 km2. Une telle réduction scellant la quasi-disparition des glaciers asiatiques.
    De 2035 à 2350, il y a, au choix, un peu plus de trois siècles ou une petite coquille...</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><em>"Cette erreur doit être ramenée à sa juste mesure</em>, tempère M. Le Treut. <em>D'abord, elle ne change rien au fond
    du problème. Et il s'agit d'une erreur, sur plusieurs centaines de pages !"</em> Pages dont la prose est, de plus, d'une extrême densité. De plus, le <em>Résumé à l'intention des décideurs</em> -
    document de quelques feuillets résumant le rapport et qui est remis aux décideurs politiques - ne citait pas la date de 2035. Preuve, s'il en fallait, que l'erreur relève de la simple négligence,
    non de la volonté de tromper. En outre, dit Jean Jouzel, membre du GIEC, elle a été commise par les auteurs du deuxième volet du rapport (qui évalue les risques locaux), <em>"qui sont
    spécialistes d'enjeux régionaux, et pas des aspects purement scientifiques"</em> - les sciences climatiques stricto sensu relevant des auteurs du premier volet.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Quant aux glaciers himalayens, explique M. Vincent, qui travaille sur le sujet, <em>"on dispose de très peu
    d'informations sur eux"</em>. <em>"On sait qu'ils sont en retrait continu depuis le milieu du XIXe siècle, mais nous avons très peu de longues séries de mesures suffisamment précises
    pour avoir une vision nette et globale de leur avenir à l'échelle de quelques décennies."</em></span></span>

  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    &nbsp;
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">ICE is expanding in much of Antarctica, contrary to the widespread public belief that global warming is melting the
    continental ice cap.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br>
    <br>
    The results of ice-core drilling and sea ice monitoring indicate there is no large-scale melting of ice over most of Antarctica, although experts are concerned at ice losses on the continent's
    western coast.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Antarctica has 90 per cent of the Earth's ice and 80 per cent of its fresh water, <em><a href=
    "http://www.theaustralian.com.au/" target="_blank">The Australian</a></em> reports. Extensive melting of Antarctic ice sheets would be required to raise sea levels substantially, and ice is
    melting in parts of west Antarctica. The destabilisation of the Wilkins ice shelf generated international headlines this month.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p>
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p><!-- google_ad_section_start(name=story_related, weight=medium) --><!-- // .story-sidebar -->
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">However, the picture is very different in east Antarctica, which includes the territory claimed by
    Australia.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">East Antarctica is four times the size of west Antarctica and parts of it are cooling. The Scientific Committee on
    Antarctic Research report prepared for last week's meeting of Antarctic Treaty nations in Washington noted the South Pole had shown "significant cooling in recent decades".</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Australian Antarctic Division glaciology program head Ian Allison said sea ice losses in west Antarctica over the past 30
    years had been more than offset by increases in the Ross Sea region, just one sector of east Antarctica.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">"Sea ice conditions have remained stable in Antarctica generally," Dr Allison said.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The melting of sea ice - fast ice and pack ice - does not cause sea levels to rise because the ice is in the water. Sea
    levels may rise with losses from freshwater ice sheets on the polar caps. In Antarctica, these losses are in the form of icebergs calved from ice shelves formed by glacial movements on the
    mainland.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Last week, federal Environment Minister Peter Garrett said experts predicted sea level rises of up to 6m from Antarctic
    melting by 2100, but the worst case scenario foreshadowed by the SCAR report was a 1.25m rise.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Mr Garrett insisted global warming was causing ice losses throughout Antarctica. "I don't think there's any doubt it is
    contributing to what we've seen both on the Wilkins shelf and more generally in Antarctica," he said.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Dr Allison said there was not any evidence of significant change in the mass of ice shelves in east Antarctica nor any
    indication that its ice cap was melting. "The only significant calvings in Antarctica have been in the west," he said. And he cautioned that calvings of the magnitude seen recently in west
    Antarctica might not be unusual.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">"Ice shelves in general have episodic carvings and there can be large icebergs breaking off - I'm talking 100km or 200km
    long - every 10 or 20 or 50 years."</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p>
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Ice core drilling in the fast ice off Australia's Davis Station in East Antarctica by the Antarctic Climate and
    Ecosystems Co-Operative Research Centre shows that last year, the ice had a maximum thickness of 1.89m, its densest in 10 years. The average thickness of the ice at Davis since the 1950s is
    1.67m.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p>
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p>
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">A paper to be published soon by the British Antarctic Survey in the journal Geophysical Research Letters is expected to
    confirm that over the past 30 years, the area of sea ice around the continent has expanded.</span></span>

    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><b><br></b></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Il s’agit du système de création de droits à émettre du CO2 échangés sur des marchés. Ce marché n’est en fait rien
    d’autre qu’un nouveau marché relativement opaque. C’est Gordon Brown, alors chancelier de l’Echiquier, qui a promu un système permettant la négociation de 100 milliards de droits à l’émission de
    CO2 à travers toute l’économie. La City s’est assuré une position dominante en contrôlant le « Emission Trading Scheme » (Organisation Européenne des droits échangeables) par lequel passe plus de
    60 % du volume de CO2 échangé dans le monde dont 80 % de sa valeur.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Toutefois, en raison de la crise et du surplus de droits émis, la valeur de ces droits n’a-t-elle pas chuté
    ?</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Effectivement, cela est correct mais à la suite du COP15, on s’attend à une baisse du nombre de droits émis, donc à une
    forte hausse du marché par tarissement de l’offre. Dans une ambiance agitée de réchauffement climatique entretenue de toutes parts par les mêmes banques d’affaires, grandement responsables de la
    crise financière, comme Goldman Sachs et Morgan Stanley, celles-ci se sont positionnées en tant que « Market Makers », dans la prévision d’immenses profits. D’après le Daily Telegraph, Al Gore
    serait le premier milliardaire du carbone.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><b>De quelle manière cela s’opère-t-il ?</b></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><b><br></b></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">L’International Continental Exchange (ICE) créé en 2000 par des banquiers internationaux autour de Goldman Sachs et de
    compagnies pétrolières comme Shell et BP dominent les marchés à terme du gaz et du pétrole. ICE a acheté l’International Petroleum Exchange (IPE) de Londres qui est un marché opaque et
    pratiquement dérégulé sans qu’aucun registre sur les échanges ne soit tenu. Bien que le siège d’ICE soit à Atlanta, la société opère à partir de Londres sous la forme d’un centre financier
    offshore.<br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">ICE contrôle de fait le Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) et sa filiale londonienne, le London Climate Exchange (LCX).Un des
    associés et fondateurs de l’ICE, Mr. Richard Sandor est l’inventeur des produits dérivés et des droits d’émissions échangeables sur le CO2. Goldman Sachs est de son côté le plus gros actionnaire
    de CCX et le numéro deux de ICE.<br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Or c’est Goldman Sachs qui a lancé Al Gore dans le business des Hedge Funds lorsqu’en 2003, Mr. David Bloom, ancien CEO
    de Goldman Sachs Assets Management a constitué « General Investment Management » avec Al Gore et deux anciens associés de GS. En Europe, Mr. Yann Arthus-Bertrand est un protégé de la famille
    Pinault et Nicolas Hulot est sponsorisé par Bouygues et TF1 mais ils font petit jeu comparé à l’ensemble. du dispositif de la mondialisation financière des droits d’émission.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><b>Y a-t-il une sorte de conspiration et d’apartheid technologique lancé contre les pays pauvres ?<br></b></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><b><br></b></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Mr. Lawrence Summers, principal conseiller économique du Président Barack Obama, fut le fossoyeur de toutes les
    réglementations financières aux USA (en particulier de la loi Glass Steagall). Il est actuellement ami et protecteur des comportementalistes américains et défenseur des droits d’émission de CO2.
    Mr Summers a été en faveur de l’envoi des déchets des pays développés dans les pays du tiers monde, sous prétexte que ceux-ci étaient moins pollués. Le groupement intergouvernemental d’experts
    sur le réchauffement climatique (GIEC) qui a partagé le Prix Nobel avec Mr. Al Gore a été constitué en novembre 1988.<br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Au mois de novembre 2009, une fuite d’emails dans un des centres de recherches en Angleterre a créé une sorte de «
    Climategate » qui n’a toutefois pas été capable de bloquer ou de minimiser le Copenhague COP15 et les conclusions du GIEC. Le GIEC étouffe le débat scientifique (non tranché par l’Académie des
    Sciences en France) et refuse la critique. Ce qui est pour le moins anti-scientifique.<br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Le coefficient de corrélation entre températures et CO2 sur 1998-2007 est de 0,02 soit le constat avéré d’aucune
    corrélation statistique. Le célèbre écologiste Maurice Strong est directeur du Climate Exchange de Chicago (CCX) et le patron du GIEC, Mr. Rajendra Pachauri figure au comité consultatif : cela ne
    constitue t-il pas un conflit d’intérêt ? Par ailleurs, la mise en place d’une taxe carbone signifie qu’un protectionnisme empêchera les pays pauvres, notamment l’Afrique d’échanger avec les pays
    riches, ce qui étouffera leur développement.</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">On peut douter que le système de compensation de Copenhague puisse compenser quand on connait déjà l’échec de l’aide
    internationale depuis trois générations dû à l’inefficacité et la corruption. Les milliards qui seront dépensés pour la lutte contre le réchauffement ne seront malheureusement pas utilisés contre
    la famine, la pollution des eaux et les ressources aquifères, c’est-à-dire autant de problèmes vitaux pour les pays en développement.</span></span>

  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br>
    Professor Michael Klare <a href="http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/20070615_the_pentagon_v_peak_oil/P100/"><span style="color: #2d2e97;">noted</span></a> in 2007:</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <blockquote>
    <p style="text-align: justify;">
      <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Sixteen gallons of oil. That's how much the average American soldier in Iraq and Afghanistan consumes on a daily basis
      -- either directly, through the use of Humvees, tanks, trucks, and helicopters, or indirectly, by calling in air strikes. Multiply this figure by 162,000 soldiers in Iraq, 24,000 in
      Afghanistan, and 30,000 in the surrounding region (including sailors aboard U.S. warships in the Persian Gulf) and you arrive at approximately 3.5 million gallons of oil: the daily petroleum
      tab for U.S. combat operations in the Middle East war zone.<br></span></span>
    </p>
  </blockquote>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">And in 2008, Oil Change International released a <a href=
    "http://priceofoil.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/A%20Climate%20of%20War%20FINAL%20%28March%2017%202008%29.pdf"><span style="color: #2d2e97;">report</span></a> <a href=

  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <div style="text-align: justify;">
    <ul>
      <li>
        <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><b>The war is responsible for at least <em>141 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MMTCO2e) since March
        2003</em></b><b>.</b> To put this in perspective, CO2 released by the war to date equals the emissions from putting 25 million more cars on the road in the US this year.</span></span>
      </li>
    </ul>
  </div>
  <ul>
    <li>
      <div style="text-align: justify;">
        <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Between March 2003 and October 2007 the US military in Iraq purchased more than 4 billion gallons of fuel from the
        Defense Energy Support Center, the agency responsible for procuring and supplying petroleum products to the Department of Defense. Burning these fuels has directly produced nearly 39 million
        metric tons of CO2 Just transporting 4 billion gallons of fuel to the military in Iraq consumed at least as much fuel as was delivered nearly doubling overall fuel-related
        emissions.</span></span>
      </div>
    </li>
  </ul>
  <ul>
    <li>
      <div style="text-align: justify;">
        <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><em>Emissions from the Iraq War to date are nearly two and a half times greater than what would be avoided between
        2009 and 2016 were California to implement the auto emission regulations it has proposed</em> (but that the Bush Administration struck down).</span></span>
      </div>
    </li>
  </ul>
  <ul>
    <li>
      <div>
        <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">If the war were ranked as a country in terms of annual emissions, it would emit more
        CO2 each year than 139 of the world’s nations do, more than 60% of all countries on the planet</span>.</span></span>
      </div>
    </li>
  </ul>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The report also notes:</span></span>
  </p>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
  </p>
  <blockquote>
    <p style="text-align: justify;">
      <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The emissions associated with the war in Iraq are literally unreported. Military emissions abroad are not captured in
      the national greenhouse gas inventories that all industrialized nations, including the United States, report under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. It’s a loophole big
      enough to drive a tank through.</span></span>
    </p>
    <p style="text-align: justify;">
      <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><br></span></span>
    </p>
  </blockquote>
  <p style="text-align: justify;">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Of course, the escalation of the war in Afghanistan will lead to a huge surge in greenhouse gas emissions as well.<br>
